Custom Entrapment Binders
Four color process design on vinyl binders. Attractive bookshelf presence.
Entrapment binders seal a full-color printed sheet beneath a layer of clear vinyl — "entrapping" the print — so your design covers the entire binder with a smooth, protected finish. Examples of uses: sales materials, training manuals, marketing documents. Excellent for affordably communicating your product and brand through full color design.

Options
- Entrapment sheets: Printed on a high quality digital or offset press and permanently sealed under clear vinyl into the binder panels during manufacturing. The sheets will not shift after sealing and cannot be removed — they're sealed on all four sides of each panel. Commercial printers are invited to provide the entrapment sheets (to our specifications), which lowers resale cost.
- Ring capacities: ½″, ¾″, 1″, 1¼″, 1½″, 2″, 2½″, 3″, 3½″, 4″ (some may not be available in your ring style and/or sheet size).
- Sheet sizes: 8.5″ × 11″, 8.5″ × 5.5″, 9.5″ × 6″. If your sheet size isn't listed, we can still build a binder to hold your special size.
- Pockets: Inside pockets, business card holders, memory device holders, memory stick holders, and label holders can be added for a small charge based on the quantity ordered.
- Round, D-ring, multi-ring: We recommend a rivetless ring metal with your entrapment binder; however, not all ring capacities and shapes are available with the rivetless feature. You can choose to expose your rivets — just design your artwork around where the rivet heads will appear.
- Padded: Padded board offers a rigid, sturdy board with foam padding that creates a plush feel to your binder panels. Available on the front only, front/spine, or front/spine/back panels.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an entrapment binder?
A vinyl binder with a clear vinyl layer over the cover. A full-color printed sheet is sealed permanently underneath (full entrapment) or slipped into an open edge (pocket style), giving you photographic covers at vinyl binder pricing.
Entrapment vs. litho wrap — which should I pick?
Entrapment keeps vinyl's durability and lower cost and lets pocket-style covers be updated later. Litho wrap gives a smoother, more upscale printed surface with no vinyl texture or edge weld showing.
Can I update the cover insert myself?
With pocket-style entrapment, yes — print new inserts and swap them anytime. Full entrapment permanently seals the insert for a cleaner, tamper-proof cover.
Do you print the inserts?
Either way works: we print full-color inserts in-house, or you supply printed sheets from your own printer to our template.
Is the clear overlay durable?
Yes — the insert sits behind heavy clear vinyl that's welded into the cover, so the printing is protected from scuffs, moisture, and handling.
